Gmail CLI — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 30, 2026

1. Data We Access

This application ("Gmail CLI") accesses your Gmail mailbox through the Google Gmail API using a read-only OAuth scope (gmail.readonly). It reads message metadata (sender, subject, date) and message bodies/attachments when you request them.

2. How Data Is Used

Data is used solely to display your emails in the terminal and save attachments you choose to download. No analytics or advertising are used.

3. Where Data Is Stored

Email content and downloaded attachments are stored only on your own computer (local file system). OAuth refresh tokens are kept in your user-level credential store. Nothing is sent to third-party servers except Google's APIs.

4. Data Sharing & Deletion

Your data is not shared with any third party. When you revoke access or delete the application's credentials, all locally stored tokens are removed. Downloaded files remain under your control until you delete them.
